From the Desk of: Robin Wakeham, Physical Therapist
Dear Friend,
How do I know if my back is serious?
If you're experiencing back pain, it's important to pay attention to any warning signs that may indicate a serious condition. Here are some red flags to watch out for:
1.Sudden, severe pain that comes on without any apparent cause
2.Pain that radiates down one or both legs
3.Numbness, tingling, or weakness in the legs or feet
4.Loss of bladder or bowel control
5.Unexplained weight loss
6.Pain that is worse at night or during rest
7.A history of cancer or recent infection
8.High fever or other signs of infection
If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately. In addition, if you have back pain that lasts longer than a few days or is getting worse, it's a good idea to schedule an appointment with your healthcare provider to determine the cause and appropriate treatment.
Thanks,
Robin Wakeham
P.S.- Don't forget you're just one step away from relieving your back pain...
